Have you ever felt clueless about what to wear to the wedding you’re attending? Don’t worry, the info you need is likely on the invitation, and with our helpful guide below, you’ll be ready to go in no time.
There are no room for negotiation on this one, if the invitation says Black-Tie it means you should get the tuxedo ready. In these situations, we always advise dressing fancier if you’re questioning what to wear because you’d rather be dressed to the 9’s as opposed to being under dressed. For a classic look that is sure to impress, we recommend a black tux, black bow tie, white tuxedo shirt, cummerbund, and patent leather shoes.
Our Shoe choices for a Black-Tie wedding are the Tango, Bolero and Royale.
Many guests have questions about what to wear to a Formal or Black-Tie optional wedding. If you want to take the safe route, see our suggestions for Black-Tie above. Otherwise you can inject some more of your personality into your look with a tailored suit – stick to black or navy and accessorize with a patterned tie or shirt – just not both! Of course, your outfit won’t be complete without a pair of classic dress shoes – some of our favorites that would work well for a Formal or Black-Tie optional wedding are the Kobe, Flicker and Belgrade.
Dressing for a beach wedding does not mean shorts and t-shirt - it does however mean that you can inject some more colour into your outfit! You can’t go wrong with a summer suit or chinos and a patterned shirt - ditch the tie and complete your look lightweight shoes or loafers. Always remember, you may be at the beach but you’re attending a wedding. It’s acceptable to be more casual and comfortable, but it’s important to still dress for the occasion. Our suggestions for this kind of wedding would be the Crown, Corona and Cooper.
Not sure what cocktail attire for men means? You’re not alone. A suit is your best option but the tie is optional. Dark or light colours suit depending on the season, add in a little colour with your shirt and pair with some versatile dress shoes. Although not as formal as Black-Tie or Formal, we still advise on airing on the side of caution if you are ever in question of what to wear… you can always take off the tie during the night! The perfect dress code to wear your lighter colour shoes to, some of our favourites for this season are the Copenhagen Cap Toe Derby, Flex Chukka and Kobe Slip On.
